Show JURY CONSIDERS ASSAULT CASE A federal district court jury late Wednesday debated the fate of Hois Reed, quarterbreed Ute Indian (charged with committing a statutory statu-tory offense on the Uintah-Ouray reservation. Reed was accused with committing commit-ting the offense October 3 on a 15-year-old Indian girl. Judge Tillman D. Johnson set sentencing of Walter Moos man, 23, for November 27, after Moosman, pleaded guilty to selling liquor to Indians during the reservation bear dance last April. Trial was proceeding for three other defendants charged with selling sell-ing liquor to Indians. They are Roger Harm at on, Clinton Summer-alls Summer-alls and Lavame Wilkerson. The three also are charged with conspiring to intimidate a government govern-ment witness to the liquor selling offense. |
