Show JUDGE BOSONE HITS GAMBLING Charges 'Lots' Exists in Salt Lake Charging a "lot of gambling and bookmaklng exists in Salt Lake City," Judge Revs Beck Bosons of police court celled Thursday for more police "If necessary" to make widespread arrests. Judge Bosone, who delayed sentencing sen-tencing of two defendants convicted on gambling charges In order to give police time . to arrest others, ssld: "I understand it is a matter of common kowledge that there Is a lot of gambling and bookmaklng in Salt Lake City. I postponed the Vite for sentencing in order to give police time to bring In others engaged in this business. 'If It takes added police to do this, then that is what we should have." The two defendants are Abe Rosen and M. L Fallon. They are to be sentenced December 10. Chief of Police Harry L Finch denied having received any complaints com-plaints of gambling. "I was of the opinion the officers had the gamblers tied down pretty tight." he said. "Captain A. F. Thacker and members mem-bers of the morals squad, I believe, are making every effort to apprehend appre-hend gamblers. Of course, they also have to attend to beer licensing, which takes a good portion of their time." Captain Thacker aald his squad was hsndicapped by lack of men 'and by thejact "gamblers know us isnd cover up when we enter a place."
