The condition were that the two cities should provide grounds with facilities similar to thoae of present Pioneer league parks and should give evidence of player agreements with clubs of other leagues. Representatives of the two citiea cit-iea were her today for a meeting meet-ing of league directora at which a vote Is expected on a proposal to expand tha present six-team class C circuit to include the Colorado communities. Affirmative votea of four of the six directors are necessary. Two of them, Sam Collin of Idaho Falls and Carl Anderson of Twin Falls, already have announced ' their oppoaition to expansion. An alternative expansion proposal pro-posal which would add two Montana Mon-tana clubs to the circuit Instead of the two Colorado teams also has been made, but League President Presi-dent J. P. Halliwell of Pocatello aaid that plan definitely has been abandoned for this season. Halliwell aald he had received a telegram from Dr. P. E. Logan, president of the Great Falls, Mont., Baseball association, informing in-forming him that Great Falls and Butt were ready to enter tha circuit "W mean business and are ready to move," Dr. Logan's i ' telegram said, adding that forma- ' tion of a proposed Montana class D copper league "is definitely out of the picture." Halliwell said he replied that the Montana applications were too late for consideration thia year and that if membership of Denver and Pueblo was voted down the league would continue as a six-team circuit, at least for the forthcoming campaign. Besides Idaho Falls and Twin Falls, other membera are Pocatello, Poca-tello, Boise, Salt Lake City and Ogden. Twin Falls won the pennant pen-nant in 1939. Salt Lake won the league title last aeason, but |
