Mrs. Perry, wife of Representative Perry from Salt Lake county district No. 4, enjoys fancywork and makes countless hankies as a diversion. By BETTY WAUGH Making cobwebby lace handkerchiefs is a hobby of Mrs. Melvin Mel-vin Perry, 1136 East Second South street, wife of Representative Represen-tative Perry from Salt Lake county district No. 4. Perry, 1136 East Second South street, and two grandchildren, Joseph and Marian Perry. She also is an accomplished pianist and organist, but prefers to play for. her own entertain- -ment and not as accompanist for ' aingers. Her gray hair is worn in a simple knot at the nape of her neck and the sides are fluffed around her face. She wears very little make-up and prefers a natural nat-ural nail polish. Lemon pie is Mrs. Perry's specialty spe-cialty and here's her recipe so popular with her family: Five level tablespoons cornstarch corn-starch and a little water. One cup sugar. One lemon, Juice and rind. 3 eggs, yolks and whites beaten aeparately. Pinch of salt Two and a half cups boiling water. Mix cornstarch, water and augar together, adding Juice and grated rind of the lemon, egg yolks, salt. Cook until thick. Fill cooked pie shell and add meringue to top. Brown slightly in oven. Meringue: Three egg whites, well beaten. "Five tablespoons of powdered sugar. One teaspoon of lemon Juice. |
