Show OFFICES BUDGET CUT MILLION WASHINGTON, Jsn. 29 (INS) The house appropriations committee com-mittee Wednesday reported the first major supply bill of the seventy-seventh congress, carrying carry-ing $1,404,576,838 to finance operations oper-ations of the so-cnlled independent indepen-dent establishments of the governmenta gov-ernmenta reduction of $118,-784,276 $118,-784,276 under a similar appropriation appropria-tion voted last year. The total represented an $8,034,500 cut under un-der President Roosevelt's budget requests. The committee, having hoped to bring about an even greater slash under last year's appropriation, appropria-tion, blamed its failure to do so on the necessity -of granting Mr. Roosevelt another $100,000,000 emergency defense fund, to spend without specific authorisation from congress. The committee's report, however, how-ever, .disclosed that, despite the announced drive to curtail non-defense non-defense outlays, increases for the coming fiscal year had been voted many nondefense agencies, including in-cluding the White House executive execu-tive offices, bureau of budget, civil service commission, federal communications commission, federal fed-eral power commission and securities se-curities and exchange commission. commis-sion.
