Show U. S. Envoy Waits Trip To Chiang Kai-Shek SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 29 (UP) Lauchlin Currie, administrative assistant to President Roosevelt, was to leave Wednesday for Hong Kong on the American clipper, bearing a personal greeting from the president to Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek. Currie said he was going to China to study that nation's economic eco-nomic situation, but said he was not at liberty to talk about his mission. He Is accompanied by Emile Despres, researcher of the economic division of the federal reserve board. |
