They . i were horrified by finding in the bundle the foot of an infant, three Inches In length, with about five Inches of the leg attached. They were driven away from their find by the nauseating odor. They did not notify their parents of the matter until late, when Patrolman Sperry was also notified. He searched the banks of the canal and explored the muddy bottom bot-tom with a rake for several hours, but could find no trace of the body of an infant or the severed limb. Ned Thorne, IS years old, a son of Joseph . Thorne, 663 South First West street, was one of the boys who claimed to have found the foot. He said Friday night that the foot looked as though it had been boiled. He said there were no blood stains on the bedding in which the foot was wrapped. ' The foot was badly decomposed.
