Show SUPERVISOR QUITS; MANY APPLICANTS WASHINGTON. D. C, Dec. 8. R. S. Bragaugh, elected State Auditor of Idaho last month, who has been supervisor of the Priest river forest reserve In Idaho, has resigned, to take effect December 1. There are several applicants for his place. It has been the policy of the Interior department de-partment to promote raniters who have shown they possess executive ability, rather than appoint new and untried men, on account of arduous service of this branch of the Government. It Is not Improbable Im-probable that the rule will be adhered to In this case, although the applicants are strongly recommended by Influential people peo-ple In their respective localities. Charges and answer in the case of Francis Fletcher, the Gentile who was dropped from the rolls of Assessor Woolley of the Boise assay office and a Mormon appointed to his place, have been received by the Treasury department. No action has yet been taken by the treasury authorities. |
