The situation as regards the Great Northern trainmen Remains Re-mains unchanged. The men have not yet received a reply to the answer sent to Mr. Ward, rejecting his proposal, but expect to hear from him some time today. to-day. If Is generally conceded that the matter would be decided in one way or another today. Last night both sides were hopeful of a peaceful settlement, but were looking to the other party to make the concessions conces-sions which would secure peace.
