Show DINNER TO MR. STOKES Local Y. M. C A. Will Entertain President of Board of Trustees. James Stokes of New York, president of the board of trustees of the international interna-tional committee of the Y. M. C. A., arrived ar-rived In Salt Lake last night to confer with the local association officials relative rela-tive to the erection of the proposed Y. M. C. A. building. Mr. Stokes la on his way to the Paclflo coast on a pleasure trip. . A dinner will be given at the Commercial Commer-cial club tonight In his honor by the local lo-cal association directors and the friends of the association. Mr. Stokes haa been Interested In the Y. M. C A. for many years and has contributed con-tributed 6130.000 to the building funds of foreign associations, particularly In Paris, France. He was Instrumental in establishing the Franco-American association on a good footing In a desirable location, and In connection con-nection with M. Andrae of Paris, succeeded suc-ceeded In furnishing the association in Paris, with a handsome and substantial building of Its own. .While here Mr. Stoke will advise the local committee as to the best methods to follow in their efforts to secure their building fund. |
