Show GAW IS OIMRIAL IN THE CITY COURT Henry C. Gaw appeared in the State division of Judge Dlehl's City court, this morning for his preliminary hearing on a charge of embezzlement preferred against him by William H. Persdn, Denver agent of the Smith-Premier Typewriting company. Judge O. W. Powers, attorney for the defendant, entered a formal objection, at the beginning of the hearing, to the introduction of any testimony, for the reason that the charge in the complaint did not constitute a public offense. His objection was overruled by the court, who ordered the hearing to proceed. pro-ceed. The entire morning session was taken up with the examination of the complaining com-plaining witness, William H. Person, in regard to the business arrangements under which the defendant conducted the local office of the Smith-Premier company. The State's case Is being conducted by Assistant County Attorney Dana T. Smith, associated with Attorney C. S. Patterson, who is working with him as the representative of the Smith-Premier company. The case was continued until 3 o'clock this afternoon. |
