Salt Lake's share of the $5000 deemed necessary to defray the expenses of the representatives and exhibit ex-hibit of Utah at the National Irrigation, Irriga-tion, congress to be held at Boise September Sep-tember 3 to 9, has been donated. This morning about $900 was, donated -foa the purpose by merchants and business men. This morning Joseph Geoghegan and WV H. Halloran, - as two of the committee appointed yesterday at the luncheon given by Gov. John C. Cutler at the Commercial club to about .fifty prominent citizens of Utah, started - out bright and early to bring in the stipulated stipu-lated sum before night. They met with such success that the ! amount required was raised long before noon. No refusals were met with from any source; every one asked gave at least $10, ' and some much more. Utah is out after the Clark cup in earnest for having the best representation of her resources and products that is possible. Great Interest and enthusiasm now ex 1st for the carrying out of the present plans, and success is bound to result. This is of vital interest to the entire population pop-ulation of Utah: no one section will receive re-ceive more benefit than another. At the meeting yesterday not only were there representatives of Salt Lake, but of Provo and Ogden, who took just as active ac-tive part and Interest as did the clti-sens clti-sens of Salt Lake. This show how the State at large is interested. The members of the Weber club of Ogden pledged $100. The following subscribed $100 each: Gov. Cutler, F. J. Klesel, C. A. Qulgley, David Keith, Jacob Morits. George T. Wallace, Utah Sugar company, Idaho Sugar company, Z. C. M. I., Utah Savings Sav-ings and Trust company, McCornlck'a bank. Commercial National bank. National Na-tional Bank of the Republic, State Bafik of Utah, Zlon's Savings bank, Deseret National bank. W. M. Roylance, Walker Bros., bankers, bank-ers, and F. Auerbach Bro. each gave $50. ' The following gave $25 each: J. O. McDonald, Mc-Donald, P. W. Madsen, Strevell-Paterson, H. Dlnwoodey, Ellas Morris Sons. George Austin. Rosebaum Bros., J. Geoghegan. Geog-hegan. W. J. Halloran, Rleger St Llndley, Inland Crystal Salt company. Salt Lake Security and Trust company. D. Mac-Vlchle. Mac-Vlchle. Utah Implement company.
