Show HOT WORDS PASSED IN FAMOUS MEETING Despite the statement of Attorney-General Attorney-General M. A. Breeden that the "political "po-litical intuition" meeting between himself, United 8tates Marshal 8prv and Judge Howell at Ogden was pleasant, pleas-ant, it was learned this morning that it was rougher than pig iron. It is understood un-derstood that on acccount of accusations accusa-tions made at that meeting the story of the affair leaked out. Judge Howell is alleged to have warmly resented the proffered suggestions sugges-tions of the big officeholders. According to the story," Judge Howell How-ell is asserted to have declared that l.e would stand in his own shoes, or words to that effect, and that any mutako he made would be passed upon by the Supreme Su-preme court. It was at this point, it is said, some bitter things were said about persons who have been connected with the Chambers and Craig suits. In well-rounded terms certain Republicans Repub-licans were charged with going to the enemy because thev slipped from beneath be-neath the yoke of Smootite bondage. Under the laws of Smootdom they would soon be read out of the party, because they had spoken against the lean boss from Provo. It is believed that Attorney-General Breeden took advantage of the fact that Judge Howell is a gentleman and declared that he was pleased with the visit of the politicians and expressed hope that they would call again. |
