Chief of the Fire Department Vail In removing J. T. Berry for the good of the service. ' The Council received a report of the removal, last -Monday, but the matter was referred to tbe committee com-mittee for further investigation. Analysis of Milk. An analysis of the milk from the different dairies which supply this city shows a marked improvement over the analyses made a few weeks ago. The analysis was made by City Chemist Harms. Chinese Peddler Hart. Chlng Tung, a Chinese peddler, was -Injured in a runaway yesterday afternoon near tbe corner of South Temple and Sixth East streets. Tbe man was badly bruised about the head and shoulders. He was removed to his home, where his injuries were attended to. Trainmen Have Outing. - 1 The ladles' auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen had an outing to Saltair yesterdsy. Visit New Plant A number of tbe officers and stockholders of the Utah Packing company visited the new plant Just north of Salt Lake City yesterday yes-terday afternoon. Longley, immigration Inspector for the Department of Commerce and Labor, went to Rock Springs, Wyo., yesterday, where be placed under arrest a Chinaman who, it is alleged, has broken tbe immigration law. Choir Is Entertained, The members of the Seventeenth ward choir were entertained at the home of Arthur F. Barnes last evening. Holmes Is Bearrested. John Holmes, the alleged burglar, who was arrested several weeks ago with Dan Roberts, Rob-erts, and who - is wanted to answer to the charge of having robbed the old Hempstead home on North Main street, was arrested In Bingham yesterday afternoon by Deputy Sheriff Joe Bull, Jr. Shortly after Holmes was bound over to the District court be secured se-cured bail. It Is alleged that he was trying try-ing to jump bis bail, hence the arrest. German Day at Park.
