The record still stands in his name at 1:26 4-5 for the mile. Hume was two seconds slow. One of the best and cleanest races that have been pulled oft at the saucer track this year was the two-mile handicap, hand-icap, in which Lawson fairly spun round the track-when within three laps of the finish. Fogler took a spill In this race and dropped out. Lawson beat the pistol at the start and got off well In the crowd. Downing was next to the scratch man and then came Samuelson.
