Show LAUNCHING 0F NEW ' BATTLESHIP TODAY CAMDEN, N. J.. June 10. The battleship bat-tleship New Hampshlra was launched at the yards -of the ew York Ship Building company here today. Miss Haxel E. McLane, daughter of Gov. McLane of New Hampshire, christened the battleship. Miss Marion Short-well Short-well of Cambridge, N. H., and Miss Margaret Thayer of Concord, H., were maids of honor. Gov. AcLane and his staff and other distinguished .persons witnessed the launching. The New Hampshire Is a sister to the battleship Kansas, which was recently re-cently launched. Five workmen were Injured while at work clearing away the props which held the big vessel. The timbers gave way without warning and the men were hurled some distance by being bit by the props. ' James Campbell of Oloucester and Joseph Kappaklnskl Vere taken to a .hospital severely Cruised about the head and body. Campbell's condition Is serious. The other workmen are only slightly in-Jured. |
