Show DISGRACED, TAKES LIFE Soldier Kills Himself After Serving a Jail Sentence for Theft. The body of Robert C. Coulson, a private In the Twenty-ninth infantry, was found In a room In the Lincoln lodging-house at 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. It Is thought that Coulson committed suicide, as a number of morphine mor-phine pills, some gum opium, and a bottle bot-tle of clear liquid, supposed to be another an-other kind of poison, were found in the room. Coulson had completed a term of fifty days in Jail, Monday, for the theft of an overcoat. While in Jail he told several sev-eral fellow-prisoners that he Intended to kill himself, and said that when he undertook to do so, he would make a good job of it. . After serving his time, Coulson failed to rejoin his company. Several non-commissioned officers from the fort had looked for Coulson but had not found him. He rented a small room at the Lincoln Lin-coln house Tuesday night and remained in seclusion. When the body was found there were evidences of a slight hemorrhage, hem-orrhage, but the police believe that Coulson put his threat of self-destruction Into execution. Actins-Coroner Dana T. Smith will hold an inquest. Coulson was born at Campbell, Ky. and was 29 years old. |
