Show TRYING TO GET A FINAL REPORT The Telegram has received the following fol-lowing letter from the World's Fair Contest company: St. Louis. Mo., Feb. 1, 1903. The Salt Lake Telenain. Salt Lake City. Utah, Gentlemen: We are In receipt of your f vor of !.e 7th. We beg to call your attention to the fact that on October 6. the Fair management Issued a tabulated report of the attendance up to or nar that time. Within a short while this report re-port was revised, and .showed an Increase In-crease of at least a hulf million paid attendance. You certainly appreciate that this is exactly the proposition which comes before us new. If we would award the prlz3 on the figures quoted in the attached circular, and within a short while a revision would be made, we would b in a wry embarrassing em-barrassing position indeed, and It is therefore not possible for us to pay the 1 prises until Mr. 'Stevens, secretary of ' The Louisiana Purchase Exposition company, assures us that there will be no revision. In the meantime v.'e are 1 exerting every effort to secure a ljnal and unchangeable report. Yours very truly. THE WORLD S FAIR CONTEST CO.. II. A. Davis, Mgr. |
