Show WHY NOT A NATIONAL CONVENTION CITY? It is a matter of repret that Salt Lake did not secure the meeting meet-ing of the National Educational association. The meeting here would have been motuallj beneficial. Halt Lake needs to bestir herself to get in the game as a national tenrention citv. There is no need to let all the national gatherings f o to the coast, making Salt Lake merel jr a jwssing stop. It is to be regretted that Salt Lake did not make a sufficiently 'nvorable impression on the oommittee who Tisited here to justify the 1 choice of this city for next year's convention. Salt Lake people were, Ikfiowever. a little dubious about iheir ability to care for so large a 'body as the National Educational association, and for this reason were perhaps not as enthusiastic iu their support of the convention viorcinent as they "nhould have been. It is no use to cry over spilled milk, though, and all Salt Lake can do is to "cut and come again." 6alt Lake alone can make herself a convention citj: j |
