Show MARKET STREET DIRT ADVANCES Bamberger Refuses Offer of $100,000 for 65 j by 125-Foot Corner. Snue the dedication of Market street to the public and the announcement of the finishing of the improvements on that highway, the price of property in that vicinity has made a rapid advance. The paving on that street was finished fin-ished Saturday. The sidewalks on each side of the thoroughfare have yet to be laid in many places. Simon Bamberger has refused $100,000 for his lot on the corner of Market and Main streets. The lot has a frontage of 125 feet on Market and 65 feet on Main street. The offer was made by a man who d?sired the property for the purpose pur-pose of erecting a seven-story building on it. xHe was told that it was not for sale. Across Main street from Market street. M. H. Walker bought fifty feet of property four years ago for $0250. The property is now held at $40,000. An offer of $750 a front foot for the property prop-erty waa recently refused. Improvement? are being made on the old Armory building, in Market street, at West Temple. This will be turned Into a modern office building. The Houston Real Estate Investment company, com-pany, which owns the building;, is erecting a large addition to the east of the place. |
