Show TEA COMPLIMENTS SERVICE MOTHERS A nicely arranged social event of the past week was the tea given giv-en by the Legion auxiliary complimentary com-plimentary to the mothers of unit members and of service mothers moth-ers of Springville and Mapleton, Saturday afternoon, at Memorial hall. Mrs. Emma Long, unit president, presi-dent, welcomed the ladies present pres-ent and introduced Mrs. Florence Boyer a program chairman. The program included, an instrumental in-strumental ensemble composed of Mrs. Jack Cherrington, Miss Coleen Lewis, Mrs. Thora Johnson, John-son, with Mrs. Jettie J. Anderson, Ander-son, soloist, and Mrs. Annie For-shee For-shee . at the piano. Also, a reading read-ing by Miss Elizabeth Walker; a tribute to mother by Mrs. Cleonda Miner with response by Mrs. Rena Roylance; vocal solos, by Mrs. Frances Clark, accompanied by Mrs. Julia Sumsion; and a reading read-ing by Miss Phyllis Kindred. The tea tame held a pretty floral centerpiece and was covered cover-ed with a lovely lace cloth. The daughters oi Auxiliary members including Janet Groesbeck, Peggy Crandall, Norma Weight, Elizabeth Eliza-beth Walker, Dickie Huntington and Nadine Burt, served. An interesting incidence in connection con-nection with the mother's day entertainment was the presence of four generations who were introduced in-troduced as Mrs. Mary J. Fin-ley, Fin-ley, her daughter, Mrs. Rena Roylance, her daughter, Mrs. Helen Hel-en Crandall, and her daughter, Miss Peggy Crandall. Hostesses were Mrs. Florence Boyer, Mrs. Lola Weight, Mrs. Margaret Huntington, Mrs. Mabel Brown, Mrs. Fern Whiting, Mrs. Vivian Johnson, Mrs. Eva Curfew, Mrs. Bell Sumsion and Mrs. Glen Giles. |
