Show Tentative Plans Made For Fourth Of July Full Program of Major Events Beginning With A Sunrise Salute To Center Around Welcome Home for World War II Vets A general program of events planned for tlie Fourth of July celebration in Springville was announced tkis week by members of the general committee. The celebration is designed especially to welcome home the veterans ol worm war n, ana the theme of the day's observance will center around the welcome home idea. Among major events scheduled are a sunrise salute; a mammoth parade with prizes totaling $90 being offered for the best entries; en-tries; a welcome home ceremony; kiddies', entertainment; ball games both baseball and girls' soft-ball; soft-ball; an amateur rodeo and bar-beque; bar-beque; band concert and dance. All men's organizations are assisting as-sisting in arrangements for the celebration and all organizations are also being encouraged to have concessions on the park on that day. Permits are to be secured in advance from Glen Hansen, city recorder. As entertainment plans develop, they will be announced by chairmen chair-men of Che various commitees, who expect to make the celebration celebra-tion a big one in every detail. Members of the general committee com-mittee who will be assisted by other committee members, are: J. A. Miller, Frank Morgan, Verl Whiting, Mays Anderson, Deal Mendenhall, Harold Whiting, Geo. Pherson, Reed Rigtrup, Ray Klauck and Harrison Conover. |
