Show GUARD UNIT LEAVES FOR 2-WEEKS AT CAMP WILLIAMS The Springville unit of National Guard left Sunday to join other units o;'the state for two weeks' training at Camp Williams. During Dur-ing the period unit members will undergo intensive training in field artillery and engineer combat maneuvering. The local guard unit, under direction di-rection of Ca'pt. Max Alleman, has made considerable progress since organization early this year. They have conducted regular drill at Memorial hall the past few weeks and will continue to make the hall headquarters until the Armory is constructed. Recent remodeling of Memorial hall provides temporary space for offices, storage and other items. The boys have undergone intensive inten-sive training recently in preparation prepara-tion for the camp, which in addition addi-tion to regular drill, will include such recreation as swimming, Softball, volley ball, horseshoe pitching and movies. The training period at the camp will continue until June 20. |
