Show A. H. Allen of Chicago, 111., left5 Wednesday for Berkeley, California Cali-fornia to attend the commencement commence-ment exercises at his old Alma Mater, the University of California, Cali-fornia, following a few days visit with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Scovil at Maple-ton. Maple-ton. A graduate of the university with the class of 1898, Mr. Allen is scheduled to give a short address at the commencement exercises. During his visit here, he has been taken on several interesting trips including a tour of the canyons in southern Utah. Mr. Allen has done extensive research work on printing print-ing the past few years and is the author of several books including, "Arkansas Imprints" and "Dakota Imprints," " both of which are histories of pioneer printing. He was especially interested during a visit to the Springville Herald shop and complimented the management man-agement on the establishment and fine type of work produced. |
