Show TROGRAM SUN. WILL HONOR LDS MISSIONARY Calvin Packard Called From Third Ward, Will Go To North Central States Calvin Packard, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Packard, has accepted a call to serve in the North Central Cen-tral States mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will leave for the mission home in Salt Lake City, June 21, and following a few days training there will leave for the mission headquarters. A graduate of Springville high school and Seminary, the departing depart-ing missionary has attended the Brigham Young University two years and previously served one year in the Philippines with the U. S. Navy. His college affiliations affilia-tions include the Phi Eta Sigma, scholastic fraternity, and the Bricker's social unit. In his honor, a farewell testimonial testi-monial is being arranged for Sun- i r V K A r "-""i u hi - CALVIN PACKARD day evening, June 13, at 7:30 p. m., in the Third-Ninth ward chapel, to which all members of the ward and friends are invited. The program outlined for the occasion includes the opening song by the congregation, followed by invocation by William Witney. i The sacrament song will be, "How Great the Wisdom," followed fol-lowed by a vocal solo by Glida Ann Packard. Bishop G. Ray Hales and Claude A. Salisbury of Salt Lake City, are scheduled to give short talks. Mrs. Mary Bird will render a piano selection, and Mrs. Evelyn Boyer will give a vocal vo-cal solo. There will be remarks by F. C. Packard, and a member of the bishopric and the missionary mission-ary will respond. The closing song will be "God Be With You." The benediction will be by Bishop Peter Nielson. |
