Show DOG OWNERS GET LAST WARNING In the current city dog campaign designed to decrease the number of wandering dogs on which no license li-cense fee has been paid, one last warning is made that unless the fee is paid by March 1, the owners own-ers will be cited as violators of the city dog license. With each electric light bill going go-ing out next month, owners will be informed of the ruling as set forth in the ordinance'. In regard to the ruling, Mayor Glenn W. Sumsion cites three important, im-portant, paragraphs in the ordinance ordi-nance as follows: Every registered dog shall wear upon the neck a metallic or other suitable collar with a metallic plate or check attached, which plate or tag shall be furnished by the City, and upon which shall be legibly stamped the number corresponding cor-responding with the number of the certificate of registry. It is unlawful for any person to deprive a registered dog of its collar, col-lar, or put a registry tag on any dog not registered. - It shall be the duty of every person owning or having in charge any dog upon which the tax provided pro-vided by ordinance has not been paid, to slay or cause to be slain such dog within one month after any such animal has become subject sub-ject to said tax. When the person owning or having in charge any dog fails to slay or cause to be slain any such dog as provided by ordinance, then it shall be the duty of the tax collector to notify such person that '.such dog must be slain, and in all cases where such dog is not slain, within three days after notice, it shall be lawful, and it is hereby made the duty, of the dog tax- collector to take such dog from the premises of said owner or person in charge thereof, or to take such dog on any street, lane or alley in this city, and to then slay such dog. |
