Show 'Bride-To-Be Honored At Many Social Fetes Miss Joy Thorpe, daughter of Mrs. Etta Thorpe of this city, will become the hride of Dean Hihert, son of Mr. ana Mrs. G. B. Hihert of Naples, Idaho, in a ceremony Friday, Feb. 21, in the Salt Lake Temple. The bride-to-be is a graduate of the Springville high school and is now enrolled at the Brigham Young University. Mr. Hibert, a veteran of World War n, with three years' service in the Navy, is also attending the B. Y. U. After their marriage, they plan to continue their studies at the University Un-iversity and make their home in Provo. Complimenting Miss Thorpe, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Blaine Thorpe, entertained at a bridal shower at her home Monday evening. Approximately Ap-proximately thirty-five friends attended at-tended and spent the evening with games and a nicely arranged lunch. Pretty little doll brides were used as favors, during the lunch and at the close of the party, the guest of honor opened her many lovely gifts. On Tuesday evening, Mrs. Etta Thorpe entertained at a party for her daughter at their home to which about thirty-five relatives were bidden. The entertainment wasxfeature by a three-act play, "The Women," given by Mrs. Mel-vin Mel-vin Johnson of Provo. A delicious luncheon concluded the entertainment, entertain-ment, together with the opening of the pretty bridal gifts. Mrs. Glen- Seal, sister of the bride-to-be, gave a party in the form of a shower on Wednesday evening. Cards were the diversion of the evening and a tasty luncheon lunch-eon was served by the hostess at small tables. Lovely little corsages of violets decorated each table and were given as favors. Attached to them were tiny cards announcing the date of the forthcoming nuptials. nup-tials. About twenty guests attended attend-ed the party and presented the honored guest with many lovely gifts. |
