Show (Paragraphs Of) (Interest . . . Blaine F. Thorpe of Springville, salesman in the W. A. Crowder Salt Lake City agency of the Bankers Bank-ers Life Company of Des Moines, Iowa, won membership in the Half Million Dollar Club for 1946 as a result of his excellent production record last year. Mr. Thorpe's' volume of new business during 1946 totaled $311,000 life insurance written and paid for. Mrs. Jessie Larsen of Mapleton has just returned from a month's trip to Mont Clair, N. J., where she visited her daughter, Mrs. James Marziala and husband and their new baby daughter, named Sharon Tonya. During her stay there, Mrs. Larsen was taken to a number of interesting places in the East, including New York City. Mr. Marziale is enrolled in school, to become a certified public accountant. ac-countant. Mrs. Woodrow Fillmore and two sons, David and Floy, were here from Tooele over the week-end to visit her mother, Mrs. Mae B. Huntington. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cherrington and children of Preston, Idaho, spent the week-end in Springville with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Cherrington and other relatives rela-tives and friends. Mrs. Marjorie Miner is spending two weeks at Auburn, Cailf., with her sister, Mrs. Tess Tyler. Mrs. Abe Ullock arrived here recently from Long Beach, Calif., to spend a few days with her daughters, Mrs. Cluff Hopla and Mrs. Bert Brown, and other relatives rela-tives here. Mrs. Ruth Craft of Green River, Wyo., has returned home following follow-ing a visit with her son, Robert Green and family here. Glendon Whitmore of Long Beach, Calif., has returned home after a visit with relatives and friends in Springville. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Anderson of Salt Lake City, visited relatives here and at Salem over the weekend, week-end, including Mrs. Anderson's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Payzant. Mrs. Blanch Beal visited with relatives in Salt Lake City over Sunday. , Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Jellison are spending several weeks with relatives rela-tives in Upland, Calif., their former for-mer home. A family get-together was enjoyed en-joyed last Tuesday evening and Wednesday when Mr. and Mrs. Othell Bird, and daughter Mary Jane, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bird and Mr. and Mrs. George Bird motored mo-tored to Salt Lake City where they visited their other brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bird. They spent Tuesday night in Salt Lake and on Wednesday enjoyed a nicely arranged family dinner at the Leon Bird home. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Whiting have returned from an enjoyable six weeks' trip to the East coast. Covering approximately 7500 miles, they went by way of Carlsbad, N. M., to Oklahoma City, St. Louis and to Kirkland, Ohio. They visited visit-ed Mrs. Ora.Pate Stewart in St. Louis. They spent an enjoyable time at Niagara Falls, and Palmyra, Palmy-ra, N. Y., and at Boston, where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Springmeyer. They spent nine days in New York with friends and visited Mr. and Mrs. Alton J. Hayes (Melba Tew) at Wilmington, Del., also with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Malheiro (Beverly (Bever-ly Allan) in New Jersey. They visited places of interest in Washington, Wash-ington, D. C, and returning, met Mel Haymond in Chicago, where a few days was spent on business. The return trip also included a visit in Nauvoo, 111., and in Denver, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. Whiting were accompanied to the East by Mrs. Beulah Whiting who remained remain-ed to visit Mr. and Mrs. Springmeyer. Spring-meyer. Mrs. Belle W. Childs, Mrs. Ella Reynolds and Mrs. Hilda Cherrington Cherring-ton visited Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Mae W. Johnson in Provo. |
