Show I Paragraphs Oil I Interest . . . j Dr. and Mrs'. W. G. Biesinger had Dr. and Mrs. Emerson Curtis of Payson as luncheon guests Tuesday evening. Mrs. E. D. Burleigh and two children, chil-dren, of Salt Lake City, are returning re-turning to their home this week after spending some time at the home of Mrs. Burleigh's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Bertlesen, in Springville. That some very fine talent in photography is being developed in Springville is noted from the announcement an-nouncement that Howard Clegg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Clegg, 548 South Third East street, was first place winner in a photograph contest sponsored by the Deseret News for the past week. His pip-ture pip-ture was entitled "East Mill Creek," portraying the creek which bears the name, with an old building surrounded by trees in the background. For his fine efforts Howard was to be awarded a $10 cash prize. 1 Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Bird have gone to California to visit their son Nicholas at Los Angeles, and a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Huish and children at Berkeley. The following item of interest appeared recently in the Tooele paper where F. Berne Kindred, a former resident of Springville, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kindred, resides: re-sides: "F. B. Kindred left Saturday for San Francisco, to attend the convention for the leading agents of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., of the United States and Canada. Mr. Kindred ranked first in the intermountain territory for sales and service for his company during 1947, and was only outranked out-ranked by one man in the territory located west of theMississippi. "He has been with the company for the past thirteen years, except for two years while serving in the U. S. Navy. "In addition to being a leader in insurance sales, he is active in community affairs, including publicity pub-licity chairman for the Lions club, superintendent of the Fifth ward Sunday school, and ' during the Centennial year was tresurer of the county committee. He is also active in the Bit & Spur club, and in the local Legion Post he is finance fin-ance officer. "The honor coming to Mr. Kin- dred, which has brought him the present trip to San Francisco, was the result of having written over $500,000 in insurance during 1947." |
