Show TROPICAL SPICE CAKE This tantalizing upioe cake with a creamy fudge frosting b one you eaa make on your busiest day. It's a tested recipe, made the One-Bowl way which means your cake is mixed and in the oven in five minutes. The frosting, too, is a "quickie." Just try it and see. When you taste this feathery-light, tender cake with its subtle blend of spices and luscious smooth frosting, you'll marvel at how quickly you were able to turn out such a masterpiece. It will be a family favorite, so clip the recipe now. Tropical Spice Cake 2 cups sifte3 "cake flour teaspoon nutmeg , 13$ cups sugar teaspoon cloves 2 teaspoons baking powder H cup Spry (tartrate powder, 4 teaspoons) 1 cup less 2 tablespoons milk 1 teaspoon Bait 1H teaspoons vanilla 1 teaspoons cinnamon 2 eggs, unbeaten Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and spices into mixing bowl. Drop in Spry. Add of milk, then vanilla and beat 200 strokes (2 minutes by hand or on mixer at low speed). Scrape bowl and spoon or beater. Add remaining milk and eggs and beat 200 strokes (2 minutes by hand or on mixer at low speed). Bake in two square 8 x 8 x 2-inch Sprycoated pans in moderately hot oven (375 F.) 25-35 minutes. Spread White Fudge Frosting between layers and on top. Decorate with chopped nuts or pecan halves. ' White Fudge Frosting. Melt 2 tablespoons Spry and 1 tablespoon butter but-ter in 4 cup scalded top milk. Combine 3 cups sifted confectioners' sugar and teaspoon salt. Pour hot milk over sugar and salt and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and teat until thick enough to spread. |
