Show IMPROVEMENTS ARE UNDERWAY ON CITY POWER SYSTEM In order to improve the power setup in Springville, and to reduce the possibility of putting all the city in darkness when something goes wrong in one section, Springville Spring-ville is realigning power pole lines and installing a new substation. A new line of poles to carry high voltage will route power directly from the Strawberry Water Users' power plant in Spanish Fork canyon to the ' new substation built in the old city gravel pit on Fourth South hill. It will follow fence lines or cut across country avoiding the main highway high-way 50-89 where frequently automobiles auto-mobiles and trucks have knocked down power lines and thrown Springville into darkness. There will be less overloading in the expanding regions of the city, and a possibility to shut off smaller areas during a power breakdown, thus isolating the blackout to a smaller area. |
