Show CHAIRMAN FOR FOOD SAVING PROGRAM NAMED Meeting Scheduled Today At 4:30 P. M. of Committee To Outline Program Plans An important committee , has been formed in the city under direction di-rection of Chairman W. W. Brock-bank, Brock-bank, whose responsibility will be to initiate a "Save the Food Program" Pro-gram" in Springville, according to announcement made Wednesday. With the appointment of Mr. Brockbank as chairman, Mayor Sterling E. Price stated that a request re-quest for such a committee to be formed had come from Heber Ben-nion, Ben-nion, secretary of state, in an ef; fort to publicize the national save food program. A meeting of all members of the committee who will represent churches, schools and practically every civic organization in Springville, Spring-ville, will be conducted today, Thursday, at 4:30 p. m., at the city hall, where plans will be formulated for-mulated on methods of conducting the program in this city. BROCKBANK "Save the Food" programs, by informing in-forming the public of the importance import-ance of saving food and bringing to the attention of consumers the amount of food wasted. The motive mo-tive of the program will be to urge conservation of food so that there will be a sufficient amount to feed the people of this country and help those in starving nations. One of the objectives of the committee will be to bring the food situation before school children, urging their cooperation in not wasting. Restaurant owners and others concerned in serving food will be asked to cooperate in the program also, it was pointed out. Appointed to assist the chairman chair-man with the program in Springville Spring-ville are: Ernest A. Strong, representing rep-resenting churches; Ross Bradford, Brad-ford, foods; Harrison Conover, press; John A. Miller, Chamber of Commerce; Robert Parker, Junior Chamber of Commerce; Glenn Hol-ley, Hol-ley, Kiwanis; Paul Haymond, Lions club; Paul Walker, schools; Tom Smith, labor; A. C. Chader, Legion Post No. 28; Legion Post No. 46, Finley Roylance; VFW, Max Alleman; Women's Clubs, Mrs. Nell Condie; American Legion Auxiliary, Mrs. Floss Phillips; Boy Scouts, Wilford Manwaring; 'business, 'busi-ness, Howard Maycock; city council, coun-cil, Milton Harrison. |
