Show High Taxes Threat ' To Way of Life, Article Points Out High water and late run-off is expected to give the state very little chance to get the waters of the state stocked before the June 11th opening date for fishing, according ac-cording to R. L. Turpin,' Fish and Game Director. The date was set at June 11th because the sportsmen are used to this mid-June opening. It is also impossible for the state to handle its planting program and open the season any earlier. We have had a severe winter and right now the spring is slow in getting around to us. Add this up and you get a late spring and blocked canyon roads anyway you look at it. It will be some time before the trucks will be able to get to some of the canyon waters, Turpin said. |
