Show Drive For Cancer Funds Is Underway A concerted effort is being . made in Springville to raise funds for the Cancer Drive currently underway. In the various Relief Societies early this week, talks were made on the importance of the drive and members were appointed ap-pointed from each ward, to accept contributions. Mrs. Harlan Boyer will accept' contributions in the First ward; Mrs. J. A. Miller, Second; Mrs. Floss Johnson and Mrs. Clarence Smith, Third; Mrs. Tom Robbins, Fourth; Mrs. Ernest Weight, Fifth; Mrs. Florence Beardall, Sixth; Mrs. Bernice McKenzie, Seventh; Mrs. Nellie Anderson, Eighth and , Mrs. C. E. Eggertson, Ninth. It haa been pointed out that over a hundred cases of cancer were detected by the Utah Valley Hospital center last year. Funds contributed help to maintain cancer can-cer study organizations and to aid in research on this most dreaded dread-ed disease. In the past two years, $66,430 has been allocated to the U. of U. for research work on the disease. |
