Springville Pioneer Has Five Living Generations To be the eldest of five generations is an honor which seldom comes to one in a lifetime, and to have reached this attainment undoubtedly brings a feeling of pride and satisfaction satis-faction in a life well lived. Mrs. Mary Jane Finley of this city can now claim all honors, and her 92 years have been well spent. She is the eldest of five living generations, the youngest being great-great great-great grandchild Thomas D. Greener, six months old. Mother of Thomas D. and member of the fourth generation gener-ation is Mrs. Gene Harmer Greener of Logan, daughter of Floyd F. Harmer of Payson, who is the son of Mrs. Eva F. Harmer Hansen. Mrs. Hansen is the daughter of Mrs. Finley. - , Adult members of the generation group have been active ac-tive in community life. Mrs. Finley has been prominent in practically every phase of civic undertaking, and still Takes a keen interest in life and current events. Mrs. Hansen has also been active in community and church work, as has her son Floyd F. Harmer, who is now serving his third term as mayor of Payson. Mrs. Greener was a student at the U. S. A. G, Logan, before her marriage. , With the exception of baby Thomas D., and his great-great great-great grandmother, all members of the five generations were born in Springville. Mrs. Finley came to Springville as a child and has spent approximately ninety-one years in this city. Her life reads like a book well filled with accomplishments, accomplish-ments, sacrifices and wqnderful experiences. |
