Show FISH LAKE LISTS MANY VISITORS During the past year the Fish-lake Fish-lake national forest furnished multiple mul-tiple services to the people of Utah, Blaine Betenson, forest supervisor, said Saturday in issuing his annual an-nual report. Water for domestic, irrigation, power and industrial use in the communities adjacent to the forest was the most important commodity commod-ity produced. Water from this forest for-est supplies every community in Sevier county and communities and large tracts of agricultural land in Sanpete, Millard, Piute, Wayne and Beaver counties. According to the annual report, approximately 143,000 persons spent an average of 2.3 days for recreational purposes in the forest during the past year. This number included 77,000 sportsmen and 76,- 000 "for other recreational purposes." pur-poses." Reports show that approximately approximate-ly 10,000 deer hunters were successful suc-cessful in getting their bucks and does and 85 elk hunters in securing secur-ing their elk. Recreational use nearly doubled over last year over immediately preceding years. This centennial year should bring many more forest visitors than ever before, be-fore, the supervisor said. |
