Show SERVICE WOMEN SET MEETING TO ORGANIZE LEGION With increasing interest being expressed among Utah county ex-service ex-service women regarding the establishing es-tablishing of a women's veterans organization, a meeting has been scheduled for 8:00 p. m. this evening, eve-ning, at the Veterans Center, 287 East First North, Provo, for the purpose of discussing the organizing organiz-ing of a Woman's American Legion Le-gion Post for all women veterans living in communities within Utah county. To assist in the presentation and discussion of the essential information informa-tion necessary for forming of this organization will be members of the Phyllis Hymphreys American Legion Post, a women's veterans group, which was organized in Salt Lake City last year, and in which membership has been rapidly increasing in-creasing during the short year it has been in' existence. This group will be represented by Mary Harrington, Har-rington, commander, and Ruth Hammond, adjutant, who will outline out-line the future activities and plans for their organization, as well as discuss their experiences in establishing estab-lishing this organization. All Utah county women havng served in the Marines, WAVES, WACS, SPARS, Navy or Army Nurses organizations are cordially invited to attend this meeting, in order to determine their interests and attitudes regarding the forming form-ing of an American Legion group, and whether or not a sufficient number of them are sincerely desirous de-sirous of establishing such an organization or-ganization within the county. |
