Show Skiers Survey Potential Ski Area Between Springville and Provo More than 20 skiers from Utah county and surrounding sur-rounding areas surveyed what is considered one ot the P-reatest Dotential ski areas m the United btates, torn. This second lift would be over 6000 feet long and rise from 7300 feet where snow was 63 inches deep last Auril 7, to 9200 feet where snow was over 10 feet dep at the same period. The regular regu-lar ski run would be one and one-half one-half miles long, which is a third longer than any present ski run in Utah, it was pointed out. The seven-mile run as proposed is believed be-lieved to be the longest of its kind in America, and probably in the world. Members of the committee stated that the hill has a perfect northeast exposure and is described de-scribed as being free from thje sun until the latter part of April. The season would be from Nov. to May 15. A good supply of water is also available. There is also unlimited terrain in the basin at the top of the hill for further development, de-velopment, and even a chance to develop the Hobble Creek area on the east side if the snow slides can be controlled. during the past week. The commitee also found that there was no sewage disposal problem prob-lem which has hindered Alta and Brighton, and that the two lifts combined one for skiing and one to reach the area would be the longest combined lift in the world, with a length of more than 15,000 feet. Also the forest service owns the land right down to the main highway between Springville and Provo, and there is no private land involved in the development of the area, and making it an attractive spot for tourists traveling on the one road which highways . 89, 91 and 50 merge into. A seven-mile run would be possible pos-sible from the top of the lift to the mouth of Slate canyon for three months each year.
