Show DDT Spraying Dangerous Practice The government acted today to keep what one official termed "a slow, insidious poison" from seeping seep-ing into the nation's milk supply. The agriculture department warned dairy farmers: don't spray your cows or barns with DDT to kill insects! It will kill the insects, all right, but it also will accumulate in the cow and then seep into the milk she gives, the department said. The department quoted toxicoli-gists toxicoli-gists of the food and drug administration admin-istration as saying that "even small amounts of DDT in a food such as milk . . . . might prove harmful" to humans, especially infants in-fants and small children. |
