Show Hafen-Dallin Club Elects New Officers At an interesting meeting of the Springville Hafen-Dallin club, held especially to revive interest in the April Art project, last Friday Fri-day afternoon at Memorial hall, several items of business were taken up, including election of new officers. Mrs. Floss H. Taylor was elected elect-ed president succeeding Mrs. Elizabeth Eliz-abeth H. Salisbury; Mrs. Philda Finley was elected vice-president; Mrs. Stella Brockbank, secretary, and Mrs. Ada B. Straw and Mrs. LaPreal Friel, committee members. mem-bers. During the meeting it was voted to contribute $25 to the Art fund for this year. In an interesting report given by Mrs. Salisbury, it was noted that the club has already contributed con-tributed $157 toward having their name inscribed on the Art plaque. A brief resume of the club's activities ac-tivities since organization in January Janu-ary of 1938, was also given by Mrs. Salisbury. The membership of the club has varied from 17 to 30 members with a fine record of attendance. The lessons of special interest were presented at various times by Miss Verlax Birrell, Virgil Vir-gil Hafen, Glenn Turner and Mrs. Mae Huntington and Included the history of Art, Art Appreciation, class demonstrations of stone cutting, cut-ting, oil painting, water-coloring, and pencil sketching. The club has also sponsored a number of fine entertainments. Mrs. Wayne Johnson served as the club's first president, followed by Mrs. Beulah Whiting and Mrs. Salisbury. |
