Show First Graders Giue May Tfay Festival A lovely event of early Spring was the May Day festival presented present-ed by the First graders of the Grant school under direction of their teacher, Mrs. Rea Straw, on Tuesday afternoon. The school room was beautifully beautiful-ly decorated for the occasion with many Spring blossoms, forming a picturesque setting for the pretty May Day queen, who wore a wreath of daisies. Mothers of the boys and girls were special guests during the afternoon, as well as Nell Matley, primary grade supervisor, and Mrs. Cornell Clyde, retiring PTA president, and Mrs. Ted Haymond, newly-elected president. Each of the guests were presented with lovely corsages by the pupils. The afternoon's program included in-cluded a health play and other numbers and in conclusion, light refreshments were served by the children to approximately eighty boys and girls and their guests. j I |
