Johnson indicate that the parts of the road which exclusively serve most industries will be saved for continuous operation. oper-ation. ! The road will be abandoned by j the S. L. and U. and the parts not I sold to other railroads will be sold : as salvage. ! Judge Johnson ordered S. J. Quinney, receiver, to sell the road i in whole or part for continuous operation, at public sale at the court house at Provo at 11 a. m. j Thursday, July 18. I The sale is regarded as a formality for-mality to comply with requirements require-ments in transferring title. The court was informed that the Bamberger Railroad has made offers, accompanied by down payments, pay-ments, of $202,000 for two parts of the road. The Bamberger has bid for the road from the north side of Sixth South Street in Salt Lake, where the Orem and Bam-beger Bam-beger meet, to the junction with the Union Pacific near Thirteenth South St., and for the road, as is, from Pleasant Grove, across the Utah County fruit orchard belt, to Provo. The Bamberger has also bid separately for the Salt Lake City trackage, offering $75,000. Negotiations are under way with the Union Pacific and the D. and R. G. W. for tracks to sugar and canning factories and other industries along the Orem right-ofrway. Mr. Quinney said be nad received re-ceived no offers of any kind for the branch from Granger to Magna Mag-na in Salt Lake county nor for the part of the Orem south of Spanish Span-ish Fork. |
