Show TWO THISTLE MEN CHARGED WITH STEALING TURKEYS Max Long of Thistle waived his preliminary hearing in the Provo city court and was bound over for trial in the Fourth district recently recent-ly on charges of partisipating in the theft of thirteen ' turkeys belonging be-longing to Arvil Bird of this city, early this month. Long was arrested ar-rested jointly with Darrell Smith, also of Thistle, who appeared in court to request a preliminary hearing on the same complaint. The preliminary hearing is to be held next Tuesday, July 29.' Smith and Long are ' charged with stealing the turkeys from a point near the Springville Evergreen Ever-green cemetery, where Bird kept the turkeys as well as a man to check on intruders. Several member mem-ber fro mthe sheriff's office investigated in-vestigated the case before making mak-ing the arrests. Mr. Bird valued the" turkeys at $52 but explained that they were not in an edible condition, which might also have proven a disappointment disap-pointment to the two alleged thieves. It is the second time that turkeys tur-keys have been stolen from Bird's feeding fields, and the second time men involved have been taken into in-to custody. |
