Show Armed Forces Clifford Pierce, with the U. S. armed forces, stationed at Palo Alto, Calif., where he is an instructor in-structor in civilian defense at Stanford Stan-ford university, is spending an 8-day 8-day furlough with relatives and friends in Springville. He visited in Brigham City Monday. Eldon Mackley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Mackley of Mapleton, has been promoted to sergeant in the army air corps, according to word received here. He is in the radio division stationed at Boca Raton, Fla., where he has been located the past eight months. Raymond Berl Collings, son of Mrs. Dora Collings of 1193 South Main street, recently arrived at the U. S. naval training station at Farragut, Ida., according to word received here. Levon Everett Garnick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ford Burt, was recently re-cently promoted to corporal in the army air corps, stationed at Gow-an Gow-an Field, near Boise, Idaho. He enlisted en-listed in April, 1942, and took his early training at Tucson, Ariz., and Yakima, Wash. Alonzo Billings has spent two weeks on a furlough with relatives and friends here and in Provo. He left Sunday to enroll in officers' training at Fort Belvoir, Va. He recently came from the Hawaiian Islands, where he was stationed with the 115th Engineers. |
