Show Spriiigville's Outstanding Young Civic Leader Will lie lamed At Jaycee Banquet Tonight . a . Ames K. Bagley, Executive Secretary Of Salt Lake City Junior C. Of C, Will Be Main Speaker At Special Meeting-Arrangements Meeting-Arrangements have been completed and the stage is all set for the first distinguished service banquet ban-quet ever to be held by the Springville Junior Cham- AU . ... ruer or commerce tonight at the Springville Memorial hall. The banquet, one of many similar events being held throughout the state during National Jaycee Week, will honor the outstanding young civic worker in Springville during the past year. The recipient, known only at the present time by the committee making the selection and Grant S. Thorn, local Jaycee president, will be announced at the dinner and will be presented with a gold key. Ames K. Ba?l retary of the Salt Lake City Junior Jun-ior Chamber of Commerce, and an eloquent speaker, will give the main address, and other program numbers announced by President Thorn will be as follows: Violin solo, Phyllis S. Olsen; reading, Venice Whiting Springmeyer; duet, Melba Wheeler and Evelyn Boyer. Dr. C. A. King will be toastmaster. Also to be presented will be scrolls to the Springville Herald, the three Salt Lake City daily newspapers, and radio station KOVO for their cooperation in giving publicity to the local Jay-cees. Jay-cees. The presentation of three "key man" keys will be made to three outstanding workers in the Springville organization for their efforts in Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce activities. Included among the guests will be Arch Madsen, of KOVO; Harrison Har-rison Conover, publisher of the Springville Herald; Dr. George A. Anderson, president of the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce; Ernest A. Strong, president of the Kiwanis club; C. G. Salisbury, W. W. Brock-bank Brock-bank and J. Emmett Bird, the committee making the selection of the outstanding young man; Jay G. Brockbank, national director of the Jaycees; and Ray L. Richards, president of the TTtab State. Timing Chamber of Commerce. Maurice Anderson, chairman of the ticket sales for the banquet, stated Wednesday that an unusually unusual-ly large crowd is expected at the event, which will be informal. |
