Show FLYING-CLUB SELECTS YEAR OFFICERS Lawrence L. Beach was again named president, and Kimball J. Larsen was renamed secretary-treasurer secretary-treasurer of the Springville Flying Fly-ing club at a dinner-meeting held at the Chicken Roost, at which the wives of the members were special guests, Thursday evening of last week. Other officers named were: Dr. C. A. King, vice-president; W. D. Mendenhall and Mack Whitney, Whit-ney, directors. President Beach also named W. D.- Mendenhall, Ralph E. Child and Ray L. Richards as a special air-Dort air-Dort committee. Mr. Larsen gave the financial report, re-port, which showed the club's treasury in fine condition, with the plane paid for and all current bills cared for. He also presented a list of the following as present members mem-bers in good standing: Lawrence L. Beach, W. D. Mendenhall, Ralph E. Child, Kay Mendenhall, Paul Haymond, Roy A. Strong, Mack Whitney, Kimball J. Larsen, Del Whitney, Edith Whitney, Frank Morgan, J. Lewis Bird, H. T. Jensen, Jen-sen, Willis Madsen, and two new members, Dr. C. A. King and Ray L. Richards. Members were urged to join the Civil Air Patrol and also to get behind the airport improvement project now underway between Springville and Spanish Fork cities. y As a special feature,' a letter from Kay Mendenhall was. read by his father, Deal- Mendenhall. Kay, a charter member of the flying club, is how on active duty with the Civil Air Patrol at Laredo, Texas, and he recounted a thrilling flying mission he participated in recently. |
