Show Herald Gets Letter From Springville booster The Herald this week received a letter from Mrs. Olive L. Anderson, Ander-son, which it is believed her many friends in Springville will enjoy reading. Mrs. Anderson, who recently re-cently celebrated her eightieth birthday, is spending the winter in California. Her letter follows: "For nearly two months have been visiting in Los Angeles at the home of my daughter, Eva, and her husband, Lyman W. Noyes. Their beautiful home is situated on one of the Hollywood hills giving a view of the great city of Los Angeles An-geles and the ocean in the distance. dis-tance. "To the right the hills continue on and cn covered with beautiful green trees and vegetation, among which are so many white homes even to the very summit. Most of the days have been warm and full of sunshine. "Some of my friends here have been telling me that there is no place so desirable for a home as Los Angeles. I tell them if people believe that, it is because they have never visited Springville, the lovely art ctiy so loved by all its inhabitants inhabi-tants and all visitors. "Oh, yes, we know it is nice to have sunshine, green trees, and blooming flowers in winter months, but Springville is grand and beautiful beau-tiful even when king winter holds sway, its beautiful mountains wrapped in a mantle of white and standing like faithful sentinels guarding us safely. "Then Springville, too, has green trees, sturdy pines reaching up and up toward heaven reminding us of our faithful pioneers who reached this spot of earth and builded homes for themselves and famiiles, and laid the foundation for future generations to build more stately structures. We hold them in sacred memory, and hope we may emulate their example. of courage, thrift, economy and divine faith in God. "Yes, I love California and feast on its beauties, and feel the spirit of friendship, among the many fine people I have met here. How grand that there are beauty spots, and grand people wherever we go. "Have enjoyed reading the Springville Herald, the Christmas number especially fine. "May I be permitted through the home paper to express thanks for the many Christmas greetings I have received from my friends, the lovely cards expressing such beautiful beau-tiful sentiments and good washes which have thrilled me with deep appreciation. |
