Show LITTLE SABOTAGE No single, large-scale acts of sabotage, sa-botage, or other serious depredations, depreda-tions, by organized fifth columnists, column-ists, have occurred in the first six months of the war, according to Attorney-General Francis Biddle. During this time, 1200 individuals were convicted of various subversive subver-sive and disloyal activities and were sentenced to serve up to 20 years. Most convictions came from violations of the Selective Service act, but there were 48 for espionage espion-age and nine for acting as agents for hostile foreign powers. |
