Although the Utah national guard was 100 years old Monday, it was still a young and virile organization or-ganization anxiously awaiting induction' in-duction' into federal service March third. To provide amusement and entertainment en-tertainment of guardsmen while away from home, the entertainment entertain-ment was planned to raise a recreation recre-ation fund. Susanna Foster, pretty young singing star of Paramount pictures, pic-tures, appeared on both programs Wednesday. The 85-piece Brigham Young university symphony orchestra or-chestra and the Bryant lower division di-vision high school boys' chorus and Lincoln lower division girls' chorus appeared with Miss Foster during the afternoon performance. With Miss Foster on the evening eve-ning program were the B. Y. U. orchestra, the Salt Lake Orpheus club chorus of 50 male voices, and the Salt Lake a capella chorus of 350 voices. j |
