Show K0L0B QUINTETS UNCONTESTS Springville First and Mapleton ward M Men dropped two practice games Monday night to the Edge-hill Edge-hill and Sugarhouse wards of Highland stake in two interesting interest-ing battles. Edgehill beat the First warders 32 to 30 in a close game, while Sugarhouse handed the Mapleton team a 45 to 35 setback. set-back. Not until the last quarter did the Sugarhouse team pull out in front to coast home to victory over Mapleton. George Bird, veteran guard for the First ward quint, played an outstanding game. He covered the back court in flawless fashion and rang the bell for 11 counters for high point honors as well. Mapleton played nicely for the first three rounds but could not keep pace with the Sugarhouse boys in the final canto. In a league game played here Thursday night, the Second ward captured its second victory of the season when they downed the Fourth ward 36 to 30. |
